Effie Panagiotounakos is a Senior Associate of our firm and a member of our Digital Platforms, Data Protection & Cybersecurity and TMT practices. She focuses on technology-related litigation and contentious regulatory matters.

Effie specialises in technology-related legal consulting, litigation and dispute resolution, in particular concerning digital services and digital markets, as well as in personal data protection compliance and cyber security incident response.

In particular, Effie represents digital platforms, online marketplaces and social media companies in proceedings before Greek courts and regulatory authorities, specifically in cases relating to platforms’ regulatory compliance, intermediary liability, data privacy and consumer protection obligations. Her work covers disputes involving hosting service providers, social media and short-term rental platforms, and includes representation in proceedings both before supervisory authorities and before civil and administrative courts.

Effie is also extensively engaged in the implementation and oversight of GDPR compliance programmes for a number of clients across various fields of economic activity. Her practice also involves providing advice to multinational clients on GDPR compliance, cybersecurity obligations and AI governance programmes. Effie regularly assists entities and organisations in their data breach incident response and notification obligations, in handling data protection complaints, in the process of regulatory inspections and enforcement proceedings, combining litigation strategy with preventive compliance advice.

Effie also advises clients on a wide array of commercial and regulatory issues, focusing primarily on artificial intelligence, e-commerce, consumer protection law, audiovisual media services and information technology.
